Suction Excavation proves to be the best option on a Major Trunk Road

15-03-2016

Suction excavation is proving to be the way forward on a project we are currently working on.

Utilising the use of extension pipes and our powerful 26t, power arm suction excavator, our suction excavator operatives are able to remove loose material from below the bridge, uncovering the current concrete foundation where jacks will be positioned to raise the bridge.

Safe excavation is paramount to our client, not only for the operatives but due to the sensitive area where the project is situated. This bridge is on one of the UK’s busy major trunk roads, above main line railway tracks.

This image shows our newest MAN suction excavator removing loose material at ease. The MAN vehicle has impressive powerful suction technology, removing the material at a quick but smooth rate.

This project was based on a two day hire – expresses just how powerful and impressive this machinery is.

This is how the suction excavator works.

Why should you use this method of material removal?

Safety and risk avoidance is paramount. This technology offers endless possibilities. Take a look at the Force One Ltd extensive image gallery where suction excavation has proven to be the best option.

Benefits of using suction excavation to remove rail ballast

07-01-2016

500 tonnes of rail ballast to be removed from rail wagons

From sunrise to sunset, two suction excavators have been working on a UK rail site removing in excess of 500 tonnes of rail ballast from wagons.

Suction excavation technology has again proven to be the best option to remove this large amount of material across only three shifts, whilst utilising two of our 32t suction excavators to complete the task.

The benefits of using this method is the competence of the machinery, the huge amount of ballast that is able to be extracted in one single load. It can then be safely stored within the container and moved on site to the designated tipping area, then back to the wagon to commence the next load.

Suction extraction, excavation and removal is proven to be a time saving, fast, effective and reliable method to extract a bulk and heavy load of material - all stored in one container with minimal disruption to the environment, site area and the surroundings.

These images were taken on site and show our operatives removing the ballast from the wagons, using remote controlled functions, extension hoses and the highest powered 32t suction excavators we have available for various rail site projects.
