October Photo of the Month – Haddenham Water Tower

Well done to Gary Burke on winning the October Photo of the Month award with this picture of one of our 26t floppy arm suction excavators on a job in Haddenham, Cambridgeshire.

The job was to uncover the water mains leading from the water tower which, along with a second identical tower, holds more than 5 million litres of water and serves nearly 10,000 homes and businesses in and around Ely. This was to cut into and cap the water mains so essential maintenance and upgrades could be done to the tower. This includes a state-of-the-art lining which moulds the inside of the building meaning the water tank itself does not need to be replaced.

Our work took 4 shifts to complete beginning Friday 13th October. Utilising suction excavation on this site minimalised the risk of damaging the hidden water mains making the job a safer environment without effecting the cathedral city of Ely.
